SPECIAL ISSUE
Professor Yi Sun,Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences About This Special Issue Our journal aims to publish the latest research on decentralized technology. Compared to conventional centralized technology, decentralized technology is less related to “platforms” than to “protocols”. Dating back to the late 20th century, distributed computation, decentralized databases, and peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, among other technologies, for the first time brought decentralized technology to researchers and then to widespread real-world applications. Since then, decentralized technology and its applications continue to change people’s lives, from decentralized decision making, file storage, and file transfer to complex blockchain protocols, which guarantee ownership of assets by consensus protocols based on P2P networks. Nowadays, decentralized technology has been applied in a wider range of scenarios beyond digital currency, such as decentralized identity, decentralized storage, decentralized cloud computing, and so on.Decentralized Technology and Its Applications
